The hummingbirds are back! They left us to nest for two weeks, now they are back eating their sugar water and – hopefully – taking care of all the bugs. The zinnias have been scattered in the front yard. We should have burgeoning color by the middle of June. Hydrangeas are ready to bloom, coral bells are out in their full pink glory. Summer in the South!!
Editing = bugger and a blessing. My current WIP, “The Spirit of Grace” is a mélange of red and black ink (mostly red) and I’ve been beavering away at the changes and rewrites. I did get waylaid when I opened “A Spear of Summer Grass,” the latest by one of my favorite authors Deanna Raybourn. What a pleasure! I won’t spoil the plot, but the characters are deep, the setting is fabulous and nostalgia invoking, and the story telling is sublime. I read it on my Kindle and am now going to buy a hard copy so I can read it in the bathtub.
Am also eagerly awaiting “The Firebird” by Susanna Kearsley, but alas my own book must come first
